See your Claude Code and Codex usage limits in one place

By the Friday Work team · Updated 1 October 2026

Claude Code and Codex each have their own usage windows, and each reports them in a different place. Friday reads both on your machine and shows them beside your session, so a team can see how much room is left before an agent stops.

What is Friday Work?

Friday Work is a multiplayer AI workspace for coding teams. Your people and your coding agents work in one live session: the same task, the same record, the same tools. It is a desktop app for Windows and Mac.

  • Teammates join a session by link, watch every step, suggest changes and take control when it is their turn.
  • Claude Code, Codex and Cursor run on your own machine and your own accounts, side by side in one session, with Friday’s own agent when you want it.
  • Continue a Claude Code or Codex session you already have, instead of starting over.
  • Plan, Manual or Auto: you decide what an agent may do, and approve its commands as a team.
  • Connect GitHub, Slack, Linear and 50+ more tools over MCP once, and choose which agents may use them.
  • Free to start. Pro is $20 a month ($18 a month billed yearly).

Why are usage limits hard to follow across tools?

Claude Code works in a rolling five-hour window with a weekly cap, and Codex has its own windows. You check one in a terminal command or settings page, and the other somewhere else. When several people and several agents share work, nobody sees the whole picture until an agent stops mid-task.

What does Friday show?

  • A context ring on the session that shows how full the agent’s context is.
  • A usage panel with a tab for Friday, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.
  • For Claude Code and Codex, the limit windows your own account reports, read on your machine.
  • For Friday’s own model, credits in 5-hour windows, and when the window resets.

What should a team do with it?

  1. Check the panel before starting a long run.
  2. Give the long task to the agent with the most room left.
  3. Hand the work to another agent in the same session when one runs low. Handoffs between agents are on Pro and Max.

Your coding agents run on your own accounts, so their limits are your provider’s limits. Friday never meters them.

Common questions

Does Friday change my Claude Code or Codex limits?

No. They come from your own accounts. Friday only shows them.

Where does the data come from?

It is read on your machine from what the tools themselves record. Nothing is estimated on a server.

What happens when one agent runs out?

The session keeps going. Hand the task to another agent in the session, or wait for the window to reset.
