Use your own coding agents

Updated 1 October 2026

Friday links your machine for you and finds Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. They run on your machine, under your own account, and Friday never meters them.

What Friday finds

Friday finds the coding agents installed on your computer: Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. You do not link anything by hand.

Continue a session

After linking, you can continue an existing session. Friday lists the sessions it found, with the project and the number of messages in each. Pick one and your team can join it.

Choose what an agent may do

When you link a machine, you choose a mode. Friday never goes beyond the mode you pick.

ModeWhat the agent can do
Plan onlyRead and plan, without changing anything
Edit filesChange files in the folder you choose
Edit files and run commandsChange files and run commands in that folder

Within a mode, an agent can change or delete files and run commands with real effects. Point it at a folder under version control, keep your own backups, and do not link a machine that holds anything you cannot afford to lose.

Cost

Your own coding agents run under your own subscription with their provider. Friday does not hold your credentials for them and does not meter them on any plan.
