How to share a Cursor session with a teammate

Cursor’s editor chat lives in one person’s editor. Teams can share a read-only transcript, but a teammate cannot join it live. To share one live, run Cursor’s CLI agent in a Friday session on your own computer and send your teammate a link. They watch each step in a browser without signing up, and a teammate who signs in as an editor can steer with you. Friday shares the agent’s session, not your editor window.

Can you share a Cursor session?

Cursor is an editor with an agent inside it. Its Teams plan includes a marketplace for shared rules, skills and plugins, usage analytics, and shared transcripts: a Share button in the chat gives teammates a read-only copy of a conversation, tool calls included, and they can fork it into their own editor to continue. That is useful for review and for starting from someone’s context. It is a copy, not a live session, so two people still cannot work in one agent conversation as it runs. Cursor’s help page says shared transcripts are on Teams and Enterprise, not Pro, so check cursor.com for anything newer.

So teams fall back on the same four things as with any coding agent: a screen share, pasted output, a branch, or a call. Our guide to Claude Code collaboration compares them, and the tradeoffs are the same for Cursor.

How do you share a Cursor session in Friday?

  1. Link your computer to Friday with one command, or let the desktop app do it. Friday finds Cursor, Codex and Claude Code on your machine.
  2. Run Cursor’s CLI agent in a Friday session, or continue a session you started with the Cursor CLI. Chats in the Cursor editor cannot be continued in Friday.
  3. Set the mode: Plan, Manual or Auto.
  4. Press Share in the session header and send the Watch live link. A viewer opens it with no account. Send an editor link to someone who should steer.
  5. Steer together in the browser. Editors’ suggestions go to the driver, and anyone who can edit can ask for control.

Cursor runs on your computer under your own login and plan, and Friday never meters it.

What does a teammate see that they could not before?

Teammates who use a different tool are fine. In one session your Cursor agent can sit beside Claude Code and Codex, and work can move between them with its history.

What are the limits?

  • Friday shares the agent session. It does not stream your Cursor editor, so a teammate sees the agent’s steps and changes, not your open tabs.
  • The agent runs on the computer you linked, which has to stay on while it works.
  • Cursor can use Friday’s agent-to-agent tools only in Auto mode. In Manual and Plan it works as a normal agent in the session, but it will not message the others.
  • Anyone who can open the session can read all of it, earlier messages included. Treat the link as carefully as the work.

For how agents in one session ask each other questions, see Claude Code and Codex talking to each other.

What does it cost?

Solo is free for one person, with your own Cursor never metered, and anyone can watch for free. Teammates who steer with you need Team: Team Basic is $15 a seat a month, Team Pro $30, and a new team workspace gets Team Basic free for 7 days, starting when a teammate who can edit first joins or you invite one to edit, or when you first run Friday’s agent. No card, one trial per account.

Common questions

Can two people use one Cursor agent chat?

Not in Cursor on its own. In a Friday session teammates watch live, suggest redirects and take control in turn, one driver at a time.

Does my teammate need Cursor?

No. To watch they need no account and no install, only the link. To steer, they sign in to Friday on Team. They need Cursor installed only if they want to run their own Cursor agent.

Does Friday replace Cursor?

No. Your own Cursor runs on your own plan. Friday adds the shared session around the agent.

Can I move work from Cursor to another agent?

Yes. A hand-off carries the task and the record to Claude Code, Codex or another agent, or to a teammate.
